本校では、過疎の進行に一石を投じようと、アントレプレナーシップ育成教育（起業家教育）に取り組んでいます。「西山を魅力的にし、西山を活性化するために」をテーマに、観光パンフレットづくり、農産品の栽培・販売、西山温泉の新たな土産物を開発しようと頑張っています。その過程で生まれた「ひしストラップ」は大変好評で、地域の民芸品として認知されつつあります。地域の方とのコラボレーションで、地域の活性化に大いに役立っています。
